“I started at Hunter Industries on August 31, 1987, as a mold designer. When I started, we basically just had the PGP. Since then, we’ve designed and built our own molding machines. We design products, so everything happens here. Then we send finished goods out the door. Under one roof, I work with the guys who design the parts — guys like me — and the guys who come up with the ideas, the engineers. I help make the ideas a reality. I always joke and say my job is to make dreams come true. I’m really proud of the tools and molds I’ve built. I still see molds that I designed in 1987. To be part of that — I say ‘be part of’ because it’s a team effort — I’m very proud of that.”

“I’ve worked at Hunter Industries for 19 years. In my early years with the company, I had the audacity to apply for my first office job despite my limited fluency in English. At the time I was working in the warehouse loading containers with product. The fact that I was chosen for the position not only made me feel proud as an employee, but it also made me feel proud of the company I was working for because it demonstrated the company’s commitment to promoting its employees. My favorite aspect of my job is that I have the ability to impact how people learn. Especially during these uncertain times, we have been able to keep people informed through online learning. “I started in May 1989, almost 31 years ago! I’ve moved from water testing, to accounts payable, to payroll, to office services. Now I get to put names with faces. “Not very many people have the privilege to work with their own family members. My mom started working here during the ’80s. Then my brother started working here, and he recommended I apply. That was almost 20 years ago! Before my mom retired, I would see her working on the assembly line. These days I still get to see my brother working in his office.
